Located on the unspoilt eastern shores of the island of Mauritius is the fabulous 5 star Anahita World Class Sanctuary. Anahita has been developed on 213 hectares of lost paradise, surrounding you with natural beauty, including rare flowers, majestic trees and amazing wildlife. The estate was formerly a hunting area for deer and has a very established mature feel. The site has remarkable views of the island’s largest lagoon and stretches for six uninterrupted kilometres along the Indian coastline. To the west of the Sanctuary, moving inland, the 18 hole championship golf course designed by Ernie Els, stretches across the landscape with picturesque views of the mountain peaks. The whole Sanctuary has been specially designed to harmonise space, materials and colours so that they effectively capture the essence of the unforgettable Mauritius experience. The interior of the Anahita buildings continue this relaxing theme. The apartments have custom built furniture, contemporary and harmonious colour schemes and Mauritian-style verandas. There is a whole host of amenities to take your fancy, ranging from water sports to horse riding and tennis. At the centre of the resort lies a bustling open air Mauritian marketplace which can be reached by a calm lagoon promenade. Throughout the week the market offers a great variety of fresh produce and it is also foreseeable that there will be different types of market days, ranging from fresh vegetables and seafood to local arts and crafts. The weather on the eastern coast of Mauritius is ideal. It is temperate and dry from June to September and warm and humid from October to May. The annual temperature ranges from 24-30 degrees Celsius, with cool breezes.
