Located only 8 miles from Miami International Airport, the resort is set in a secluded oasis of lush, landscaped acreage of flora and fauna with an abundance of palm trees and lakes. The Doral Ryder Open, played over the infamous Blue Monster course is always one of the highlights of the US PGA Tour. Since the $30 million refurbishment in 1998 there are few finer golf resorts in North America. N.B. The resort operates an Optional Resort Fee (payable locally). The fee is $16 plus tax per room per day and includes gratuities to bellmen, unlimited high seed internet access, access to fitness centres, daily newspaper, in room coffee/tea facilities and self parking. The resort features 650 large hotel rooms and suites. All rooms were completely renovated in 1998 and have private terraces, twin beds, remote control televisions, minibar, two telephones, mirrored dressing room and a large bathroom with hairdryer.
