Dubai is in the United Arab Emirates, a hub where East meets West, and a multi-racial melting pot. An extra-ordinary destination that is both exciting and a lot more affordable than people would think.
At only 7 hours away it's popular to shoot off for 4 or 5 nights to escape the worst of the British weather. Sunshine is guaranteed all year round! Did you know the C.I.A. deemed it the safest city in the world and with its many Clubs the nightlife is better than most in the West.
Incredible dry, warm climate. 28 degrees in December and January with an average rainfall of 3 days a year. The main golfing season is mid September to mid May - in the summer the temperatures go up to 44 degrees so the prices go down. It's worthy of note that March is the busiest month for shopping, golf and special Sporting Events, so we recommend early booking. Weekends in Dubai are Thursday and Friday. Friday being the Holy Day.
In 2001 Dubai won the "Emerging Golf Destination of the year" from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators. Apart from the world renowned 54 holes at Emirates and the Creek there's the day/night course at Nad El Sheba and Colin Montgomerie's course at the Emirate Hills complex. Now there's the stunning new Arabian Ranches course and the Al Badir course.
In addition to these city courses there is, arguably, the best 9 hole course in the world at Jebel Ali Resort. The two superb 18 holers at Abu Dhabi, a 90 mins drive away, make for a great day out.
Visiting Dubai is like staying in the future, with so many incredible hotels. The landmark Burj Al Arab with its 7 stars, new projects at Palm Island, the world's biggest theme park at Dubai Land plus an underwater hotel and the world's tallest hotel. High standards and incomparable levels of customer service are the norm here.
We highly recommend that you take time to enjoy the amazing array of extra activities; go dune hopping on the desert dune safari at sunset, go wadi bashing through river beds or travel through the desert to the beautiful mountains near Oman! Alternatively organise a stag night at the Nad el Sheba Racetrack or go camel racing or camel trekking.
