Hua Hin is located on the western side of the Gulf of Thailand, and less than three hours drive from Bangkok. In 1926 King Rama VII built his golden teak "Far from worries" summer Palace here and added a whole new importance to the area.
Bangkok society soon followed and built their summer houses in the area. His Majesty the King retains his ocean side residence here, and the Royal Family has shown great affection for Hua Hin.
For over 75 years this beachside resort has been a popular holiday area for affluent Thais. Though it still retains the intimacy of a village, it has successfully incorporated modern luxuries, without the commercialism of other resorts.
It differs significantly from many other resorts in that it has kept much of its old world charm and colourful ways. Today it is still a thriving fishing village with its own local fleet. On most evenings, holidaymakers stroll down to the harbour and enjoy the masts dancing in the dusk.
The beautiful white beaches that form a crescent that stretches for miles are dotted with smooth, rounded boulders. These are regarded as some of the best, hassle-free beaches in the Kingdom.
All major resort towns have their own unique Night Market, and Hua Hin is no exception. Here you will find the local crafts, marble carvings, silver and silks of the region. This would be a good opportunity to visit the high quality local tailors for your bespoke garments at a fraction of the cost that you would pay back home.
Regal Hua Hin is an ideal base for excursions, as there are five National Parks, the world famous Floating Market, ancient palaces and temples are all within easy reach.
And of course there are six excellent golf courses in the Hua Hin and Cha Am area and none of the courses are more than a 30 minute drive from your hotel.
