In recent years our Gran Canaria golf breaks have become more and more popular. The number of courses on the island has grown steadily and there are now five great places to play. However, golf is certainly no newcomer to Gran Canaria. There's been a strong golfing tradition here since 1891 when the Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas was founded. The first members of the club were from the English Colony on Gran Canaria and they had a strong influence on the birth of the island's tourism industry.
Our golf holidays to Gran Canaria represent excellent value for money. In the low season, from May to September, they can be as little as 50 euros - and that?s more than reasonable when you consider the quality of the courses and the facilities available.
But it's impossible to talk about Gran Canaria golf holidays without eulogising over the beaches. They're the island's most notable natural resource and they cover a quarter of the coastline. Our favourite is Maspalomas, which on its own has over 250 hectares of sand and dunes.
Maspalomas also has the oldest course in this part of the island and therefore the best known, however the relatively new Solbre (36 holes), Meloneras and Anfi Tauro are all very decent courses which you can enjoy on your golf holidays to Gran Canaria.
